Questions
Using SUNPOW hose reels
How do I mount a SUNPOW hose reel?
On a solid wall, with the 4 or 5 bolts and expansion tubes from the box, in five steps.
- Pick a solid wall within reach of the faucet.
- Hold the bracket level and mark the holes.
- Drill, set the expansion tubes and fix the bracket with the bolts from the box.
- Hang the reel and screw the leader hose to the faucet through the 3/4 in brass fitting.
- Pull out a few feet, let it lock, then tug to test the rewind.
Should I choose 1/2 in or 5/8 in hose?
A 5/8 in hose has a wider bore, so it carries more water at the same faucet pressure; our 5/8 in reels come in 65 and 100 ft. A 1/2 in hose is lighter to pull and packs more length into the same housing, up to 150 ft.
Why does the hose not lock or not rewind?
Both work by pulling: pull out and stop to lock, then pull a little further and let go to rewind. Shut the 10-pattern nozzle first so the hose is not under pressure, and walk the hose back instead of letting it fly.
